This document is needed for the export or definitive shipping of objects and artworks more than 50 years old and belonging to private individuals, which are not listed as particularly important or interesting by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities. Self-certification for contemporary art
For the export or shipping of artworks less than 50 years old or by a living artist, self-certification is sufficient; this must be presented at the Export Office accompanied by a valid identity document and a photograph of the item. Once the self-certification has been processed, the office may evaluate a sample of the items.
